How do I obtain a copy of an accident report?
Accident reports are available at the Police station and may be obtained by contacting the office during business hours. There is a fifteen (15) dollar fee for reports. You can also let your insurance company request it to save you the charge.
I have a Greencastle address and live in Antrim Twp. Why don’t we see your cruisers in our neighborhood?
The Greencastle Police Department services only the Borough of Greencastle. To date, Antrim Twp. has elected not to provide Police protection to their citizens. They rely on the PA State Police who may be reached at 717-264-5161.
I received a citation (traffic or non-traffic) Do I pay this at the Police station?
No. Citations need to be taken care of at the Magisterial District Judges office. For Greencastle that is Court #39-3-05 and it is located at 401 S. Washington St, Greencastle PA 17225. It is at the intersection of S. Washington and E. Leitersburg Streets.
I received a parking ticket. What do I do?
Tickets (small yellow envelopes) are issued either by meter enforcement staff or by Police Officers. They may be paid at the Greencastle Borough office located next to the Police station, at 60 N. Washington St.
I called for an Ambulance and a Police Officer showed up. I was wondering why?
The Greencastle Police Department attempts to respond to as many EMS calls as possible in the Borough of Greencastle. We are already on patrol and can usually arrive before EMS. In life threatening situations even seconds may make a difference. We are there to help you and your family through difficult times.
When I call 911 (or the non-emergency numbers), am I speaking with a Police Officer?
No. You are speaking with a civilian Dispatcher in Chambersburg. If they are unable to assist you they will have a Police Officer contact you, either in person or by phone if appropriate.
I need to be fingerprinted for my employment. What should I do?
The Greencastle Police Department will be happy to fingerprint those who reside or work in Greencastle/Antrim for non-criminal matters. Please call during business hours and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
